Lask striker Sasa Kalajdzic celebrates after a fairy-tale comeback season the dream of the World Cup. The striker played the most successful season of his career and catapulted himself spectacularly back into the national team. Kalajdzic suffered three cruciate ligament injuries - on both knees - and missed over 200 games due to injury and was out for almost 1600 days. Giving up was never an option for the striker. He fought back again and again and showed exceptional mental strength. In the past season, this perseverance was rewarded: On loan, Kalajdzic switched from Wolverhampton Wanderers back to his home country Austria to LASK and played the most successful season of his career. With his performances, he had a significant share in the historic double win of the Linzers. Another preliminary highlight of his remarkable comeback is now the nomination for the Austrian national team at the upcoming World Cup in the USA, Mexico and Canada (June 11 - July 19).
