Lask is Austrian football champion again after 61 years. The team secured the title with a 3:0 win against Austria Wien, with Saša Kalajdžić involved in all three goals. The win means the second championship title in the club's history after 1965. Coach Dietmar Kühbauer took over the team in October when it was in a relegation spot and led it to success. Saša Kalajdžić was directly involved in all three goals that led to the win. The LASK had already won the ÖFB-Cup and secured the double. Xavier Mbuyamba put the visitors ahead in the 38th minute. Samuel Adeniran increased the lead to 2:0 with a penalty kick shortly after the break, before Melayro Bogarde made it 3:0 in the 76th minute. The LASK is thus Austrian football champion again for the first time since 1965. RB Salzburg finishes in a disappointing third place, which is the worst finish since the takeover by the Red Bull company. Sturm Graz becomes vice-champion, failing to defend their title again. The LASK celebrated the championship win just 16 days after the 4:2 win in the cup final against SCR Altach. The club thus secured its second championship title in its history. The LASK is one of the most successful clubs in Austria, with a long tradition and a loyal fan base. The LASK will fight for the title in the next season and try to defend the championship.
