Lask presented a new central defender on Tuesday: Alemão is moving to the Upper Austrians. The 22-year-old Brazilian is coming on loan from Portuguese second-tier side Portimonense SAD to Linz.

Who is Alemão?

Alemão made 23 second-tier appearances for the team from Portimão last season. The young defender brings experience from the top two leagues in Portugal.

Why is Alemão important for Lask?

„Joao Tornich brings experience from the top two leagues in Portugal. He has good positioning and dueling behavior as well as good basic aggression. With his heading strength and physicality in the last line, he can also help us. He is a young player with great development potential, which ensures that we are even broader on the central defender position“, said sports director Dino Buric about the signing.

What's next?

Lask also secured a purchase option for Alemão. The Brazilian's contract runs until 2029. The market value of the young defender is 2.50 million euros.
